Boardman Local Schools announces another change to busing

BOARDMAN Just days after 21 News reported on Boardman Local Schools changing how students get to and from school each day, another change has been added to the list.
According to a notice sent to families of students at the district, in addition to all the changes laid out here, one additional change will affect some elementary school bus routes in the afternoon.
Some students in grades 9-12 who attend the Valley STEM School or Mahoning County Career and Technical Center (MCCTC) will now ride on certain afternoon elementary school bus routes.
"Their career programs release them to late to arrive back at [Boardman High School] and their traditional bus routes," the notice reads.
The notice goes on to reassure families of K-3 students that all safety rules will remain in place on the buses and seating assignments will be arranged to ensure a safe and orderly ride for everyone.
"We know these changes have been challenging for your families, and we appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we continue to look for ways to find new drivers," the notice reads.
Parents or guardians with questions are encouraged to reach out to the district's transportation department at Boardman.Transportation@boardmanschools.org.
