AKRON, Ohio - Two Venezuelan women who Warren police found sleeping in a car outside a convenience store in February have been sentenced to two-month prison terms after pleading guilty to possessing fraudulent permanent resident cards.

Dicla Emirlania Perez Rodriguez, 33, and Emileth Nohemi Briceno Rodriguez, 39, were both ordered to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons.

Perez Rodriguez was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge John R. Adams. She pleaded guilty on May 8 to possessing a fraudulent permanent resident card. In addition to her prison sentence, she will serve one year of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.

Briceno Rodriguez was sentenced Tuesday by Judge Adams. She pleaded guilty on May 7 to the same charge. She was sentenced to two months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

According to court documents, the women were arrested in February after Warren police officers found them sleeping in a vehicle with mismatched license plates outside the Circle K convenience store on Parkman Road. The women presented fraudulent permanent resident and social security cards to the officers.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services number on Briceno Rodriguez’s permanent resident card belonged to a Chinese national, while the number on Perez Rodriguez's card belonged to a Cuban national. Both women told investigators they had obtained the fraudulent documents in Chicago.
