Police identify suspect in shooting stemming from custody dispute in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN We're learning more about a shooting in Austintown that police said stemmed from a custody dispute Sunday evening.
According to a police report, police were called to the 5600 block of Baylor Drive in Austintown just before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
When they got there, police found several spent cartridge casings in the road.
According to the report, a man and a woman came to the house to pick up the woman's daughter from her daughter's father.
After the custody exchange, police say 23-year-old Jamere Taylor and another male were arguing with occupants at the house. Police say when the occupants attempted to go back inside, Taylor fired eight gunshots at them.
No injuries were reported, but police say one of those shots did hit the house.
Police soon found a vehicle matching the description of the one allegedly used in the shooting and pulled it over.
Police detained everyone in the vehicle including Taylor, and found a handgun in the vehicle matching the casings found at the scene according to police.
Police were able to identify Taylor as the shooter based on surveillance video from the scene.
Taylor is charged with five counts of felonious assault and one count each of shooting into a habitation and discharging a firearm in a public roadway. He is set to be arraigned in Austintown court Monday afternoon.
