Two Youngstown State University students receive scholarship from Simply Slavic

YOUNGSTOWN Two Youngstown State University (YSU) students were the recipients of a $1,000 scholarship, according to a news release from Simply Slavic.
Both recipients were awarded $1,000. Funds can be used for tuition, study materials or applied to study abroad programs.
Scholarship awards are made in collaboration with Modern Methods Brewing Company of Warren.
The winners of the scholarship included:
- Lucas Mazur, a Poland resident and senior at YSU studying Applied Science in Information Technology
- Daniel Gray, a McDonald resident and a Financial Management major at YSU
In 2018, Simply Slavic officers and the Modern Methods brewmaster created "Rodina", a Czech Amber Lager that showcases spicy Czech Saaz hops, lager yeast and caramel Bohemian malt.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the beer is allocated from Modern Method to the scholarship fund annually.
