Struthers Middle School selected to kick off 'Team Tressel Fitness Challenge'

STRUTHERS Struthers Middle School was chosen as the first location to experience the "Team Tressel Fitness Challenge", according to a news release on Monday.
Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel and Ted Ginn Jr. launched the challenge at Struthers Middle School, located at 800 5th Street in Struthers, on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Of the 600 schools participating, Struthers Middle School was chosen to be the first to experience the program.
The program is part of Governor DeWine's effort to help Ohio students build healthy habits through movement, nutrition and sleep.
Tressel told 21 News that he believes the challenge will be beneficial to those who participate.
"Having kids get together, do things together, maybe take homework with their family. I think they'll be amazed by how they feel when they're exercising a little bit more. I think it'll be a good exercise at setting goals," said Tressel.
According to the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge website, the challenge takes place over 90 days.
Students will progress through three levels as part of the challenge, being bronze, silver and gold.
Any public, private or charter school student in Ohio will have the option to participate if their school opts in.
Tips on how to get involved can be found on the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge website.
