Grand jury to hear case against Youngstown twins accused of stomping woman's head

YOUNGSTOWN The Mahoning County Grand Jury will decide if there’s enough evidence to put a pair of Youngstown twins on trial after police say cellphone video showed one brother holding a woman's head on a street curb while the other stomped on her head outside a downtown bar.
Ryan Moore and Bryan Moore, both 49 of Youngstown, appeared in Youngstown Municipal Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing. A judge ruled there was probable cause to send the case to a grand jury, which will decide whether to issue formal indictments.
The alleged assault occurred early on August 15 outside the Social Bar on Commerce Street. According to a police report, the victim and her cousin left the bar and were followed by the Moore brothers, who had allegedly made advances toward the woman throughout the evening.
Police say a fight broke out after the victim began punching one of the brothers. A witness's video shows Bryan Moore holding the woman on the ground before his brother, Ryan Moore, walked over and stomped on her head. The police report states that the victim was unable to speak or move after the attack.
The victim was taken to Mercy Health hospital and treated for a severe head injury and concussion.
Police arrested Ryan Moore at the scene. They found Bryan Moore hiding near a building entrance on Phelps Street. Officers also found a baggie of suspected cocaine in a clear phone case he was holding.
Ryan Moore is charged with felonious assault. Bryan Moore is charged with felonious assault and drug possession.
Police noted in the report that they did not charge the female victim, despite her appearing to be the primary aggressor, because of her physical and mental state.
