Actor, Youngstown native Ed O'Neill endorses Amy Acton for Ohio Governor

YOUNGSTOWN Actor and Youngstown native Ed O'Neill has endorsed former Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton for Governor of Ohio.
In a video posted to a YouTube channel for Dr. Acton's campaign, O'Neill, who starred in TV shows such as "Married... With Children" and "Modern Family" endorses Acton, saying he "couldn't think of anyone who can better understand the challenges facing Ohioans in Youngstown and across the state."
"Amy overcame poverty, periods of homelessness [and] abuse, and she moved countless times before she was 12. It's safe to say she understood what it was like wondering if there was going to be food on the table or if the bills were going to get paid. ... From one Youngstown kid to another, Amy Acton's got my support," O'Neill said.
Acton is running as a Democratic candidate for Governor of Ohio. She currently has no Democratic opponents, but former Valley Congressman Tim Ryan has hinted at possibly entering the race as well.
Other prominent Valley figures who have endorsed Acton for Governor include State Representative Lauren McNally, former State Senator Bob Hagan, former State Representative Michele Lepore-Hagan, 2024 Congressional Candidate Michael Kripchak and several others.
