WARREN One person has been arrested following an alleged kidnapping incident in Warren over the weekend.

According to a police report, the incident happened Sunday, August 31 at the corner of Main Street and First Street.

The victim told police that a male and female suspect drove up to him in a white sedan, and the male suspect came out and started punching him asking him where his gun was.

Police say the victim tried to tell the male suspect that his friend stole the gun and he would tell him where it was.

At this point, police say the male suspect grabbed the victim and told him he would take him directly to where the gun was while pulling him towards the trunk of the sedan and shoving him inside. Police say the female suspect was laughing as the victim was being shoved in the trunk.

The victim told police he was able to escape the trunk when he found the release to open the trunk and rolled out while the vehicle was moving. He then went to a nearby church for help.

The victim told police the address of the female suspect, and police went to that address to speak with her.

Police spoke with the female suspect, who allegedly admitted that the male suspect was punching the victim, but denied that he was placed in the trunk, stating that she and the male suspect had a conversation about if he could fit in the trunk, but they left him on the side of the road when they determined he wouldn't fit.

The female suspect told police she did not know the name of the male suspect and only knew him as "J" according to the report.

The female was booked in the Trumbull County Jail, and police will be speaking with the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday to discuss possible charges.

The victim was also arrested on an unrelated warrant out of Girard.
