SHARON Three people have been charged in connection with an alleged fight involving a firearm in Sharon Tuesday evening.

According to a criminal complaint, police were called to Frank Street in Sharon for a disturbance just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

When they got there, witnesses showed police cell phone video of two males, identified as 40-year-old James Templeton and 24-year-old Christian Metzinger fighting.

Both men were placed in handcuffs.

A victim told police the incident began when he was driving on Frank Street approaching North Sharpsville Avenue when he almost hit a child who came out from behind a parked vehicle with his car.

Police say the man stopped and told the child not to play in the street and went back to driving.

According to the complaint, the man came home later to find several neighbors along with the parent of the child outside to confront him about almost running over the child.

Police say the man was trying to have a conversation with the child's mother when a woman, identified as 26-year-old Destinee Coachman came up and interjected into the conversation.

Police say when the man asked Coachman to leave, who made a gesture towards her waistband indicating she had a gun and said something along the lines of "What are you going to do?"

From there, police say the man told Coachman they could go in the street and fight. That's why Coachman allegedly pulled out the gun, inserted a round into the magazine, charged it and pointed it at the man.

According to the complaint, multiple witnesses saw the gun, and one who didn't see the gun still heard her charge it.

Police spoke with Coachman, who allegedly told police that the gun was in her girlfriend's lock box. Police were given consent by Coachman's girlfriend to search the lock box and retrieved the gun.

Police also spoke with Templeton and Metzinger about their involvement with the incident.

According to the complaint, Templeton said Metzinger was "running his mouth," so he confronted him with a hammer. Witnesses identified Metzinger as the brother of the man who almost ran over the child, according to police.

Police described the content of the video of the two fighting. The video allegedly shows Templeton throw down the hammer before the two begin to fight, punching each other in the head.

According to court records, Coachman is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault, along with misdemeanor counts of making terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Meanwhile, Templeton and Metzinger are both charged with one count each of simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.

All suspects were arraigned on Wednesday, and are due back in court September 19.
