BOARDMAN The Mahoning County Engineer’s Office announced that a section of Western Reserve Road will be closed to eastbound traffic beginning Monday for a paving project.

The eastbound lanes of Western Reserve Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Hitchcock Road and Market Street.

A detour will be posted, directing drivers to US 224, State Route 7, and back to Western Reserve Road.

According to the engineer's office, two-way traffic will reopen at the end of each workday once the lanes are striped.

The announcement is the latest development in the ongoing project to widen Western Reserve Road from just east of Hitchcock Road to the Interstate 680 southbound exit ramp.
