WARREN A Warren man is now in the Trumbull County Jail along with his wife, who’s being held on a one-million-dollar bond as a grand jury considers child pornography and child endangering charges, as well as allegations of sex acts with the family dog.

Justin Mayfield, 37, was booked into jail on Friday and appeared via video arraignment in Warren Municipal Court on Monday. According to court records, he faces four counts of first-degree felony rape and four counts of first-degree misdemeanor endangering children. The alleged crimes took place on August 13, according to court records.

A judge ordered he be held without bail after he pled not guilty. The judge explained he had an extensive criminal history including several open cases in Warren and deemed him a risk of physical harm. 

His wife, Shawna Mayfield, 28, was arrested on Aug. 13 and has been jailed on a $1 million bond after waiving her preliminary hearing on Aug. 19.

Detectives say in a report that they were notified by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of possible child molestation occurring at the couple’s Waverly Avenue home in late July.

That police report lists bestiality and pandering obscenity involving a minor as possible offenses being investigated.

Shawna Mayfield is accused of uploading multiple videos of child pornography and sexual relations with the family's dog, according to police.

During a search of the home, Warren Police say they found a "large" area of the basement being used to grow more marijuana than permitted by Ohio law.

Police also say they found several "large" bags of marijuana in the home's kitchen cabinets, and a lunch box on a counter that contained four sandwiches and three more bags of marijuana.

Officers say in their report that they also found two bags of marijuana in the dining room.

A grand jury is considering multiple charges against Shawna Mayfield, which include four counts of felony pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and four misdemeanor counts of endangering children.

She is also charged with one first-degree misdemeanor count of bestiality for allegedly violating Warren’s ordinance prohibiting sexual conduct with animals.

A court order prohibits Shawna Mayfield from having contact with minor children if she is released on bail. Justin was also ordered to have no contact with the victims on the case.

Justin Mayfield's Facebook page lists his profile as a "digital creator".

According to Trumbull County Probate Court records, the couple has been married for seven years.
