Youngstown nonprofit aims to receive grant up to $120K for outdoor music series

YOUNGSTOWN The Economic Action Group (EAG), based out of Youngstown, is aiming to bring a free, outdoor music series to the community through a multi-year grant from the Levitt Foundation.
The Levitt Foundation is a national social impact funder according to a news release outlining the EAG's plans.
The EAG is aiming to bring Youngstown into the group of finalists that could receive a Levitt Music Series Grant, and has partnered with The Raymond John Wean Foundation, the City of Youngstown and the JAC Management Group.
The EAG is asking the public to support the EAG's proposal by participating in the public voting process online or by text.
The full proposal can be read online at the Levitt Foundation voting website here.
Voting has been taking place since September 5 and will continue until 8 p.m. on September 15, 2025.
To vote, those interested can either visit the Levitt Foundation voting website, or text "YOUNGSTOWN" to 1-877-409-5525.
The 50 finalists of the voting phase will then have their proposals reviewed by the Levitt Foundation to select the grant recipients.
Awardees of the grant will be announced on November 18.
A Levitt Music Series Grant is described in the release as a multi-year matching grant created by the Levitt Foundation to bring free, outdoor concerts to towns and cities across the United States.
For the 2026-2028 grant cycle, the foundation intends to award U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits up to $120,000 over three years to produce their own Levitt Music Series.
A recipient of a Levitt Music Series Grant could receive up to $40,000 per year to produce the music series.
A Levitt Music Series would include seven to 10 free, outdoor music concerts that feature a diverse lineup of music genres with professional musicians.
The EAG's proposal lists The Raymond John Wean Foundation Park as the public space where the concerts would be held.
As of Friday, the EAG proposal stands in 65th place on the Levitt Foundation website.
