Beaver Local Schools welcomes new indoor facility named after former NFL player

EAST LIVERPOOL - The ribbon was cut on a new indoor wellness facility for Beaver Local School District on Saturday.
The Derek Wolfe Fieldhouse, named after Beaver Local Alumnus and NFL Super Bowl Champion Derek Wolfe, is a state-of-the-art facility that features a 50-yard field, a fitness area and weight room.
The project cost nearly $7 million to complete is located adjacent to the football stadium.
Wolfe was in attendance to see the Fieldhouse officially open, and meet with guests.
Wolfe was a graduate in the Beaver Local High School class of 2008. In 2012, he became the only Beaver Local athlete to be drafted into the NFL. He was picked 36th overall by the Denver Broncos and played an outstanding 8-year career which included being a part of the team that won Super Bowl 50.
This past summer, Wolfe was inducted into the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Hall of Fame.
In a news release, Beaver Local Schools expressed their gratitude for Wolfe and his family's continued support and donations to the school.
Funds from those who purchased a ticket for the opening ceremony will go towards scholarships for Beaver Local athletes.
