Ally Ross
Ally Ross is a multimedia journalist for 21 News.

Ally Ross is a multi-media journalist for 21 News WFMJ, most often reporting for the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts during the week. You might also catch her stories on 21 News Midday, or on the weekend’s evening newscasts.
Ally is a proud Philly native (Go Birds!) and alumna of the University of Pittsburgh (H2P!), where she graduated summa cum laude in 2023 with a degree in nonfiction writing and Spanish.
After graduating, she worked at CNN in multiple roles in the Washington, D.C. bureau, including as an Associate Producer for CNN This Morning with Kasie Hunt during the busiest months of the 2024 election and the beginning of President Donald Trump’s second term.
Ally identified, edited, and coded dozens of sound, video, and/or graphics elements for the show daily, adapting to breaking news situations as needed. She also produced segments on breaking news events, including the California wildfires, the deadly D.C. plane crash over the Potomac, and Pope Francis’s ongoing health crisis before his death.
Before being promoted to the CTM team, Ally started her career as a member of CNN’s News Associate program. In just a few months, she went from printing scripts and greeting guests to covering overnight breaking news from the assignment desk.
In college, she worked as an Assistant News Editor for The Pitt News and an anchor/reporter for Pitt to the Point. She also held internships at Pittsburgh Magazine and PublicSource, both of which she wrote freelance articles for in addition to her internships.
