Police chase ends with crash into roundabout in Sharon

SHARON One person is hospitalized after a car crashed into a stone retaining wall at a roundabout in Sharon following a police chase.
According to a release from Sharon PD, police found a vehicle believed to have two burglary suspects who also had warrants for parole violations shortly after 6:30 a.m. Thursday and pulled it over.
Police say the driver, identified as Michael Anderson, would not comply with officers' orders to turn the car off, and instead sped away, eventually coming to the roundabout at East Connelly Boulevard and South Dock Street.
Police say Anderson was going too fast to navigate the roundabout and crashed into the wall in the middle of the roundabout. The front of the car was damaged, and more than a dozen stone slabs were knocked out of the retaining wall.
Anderson then allegedly fled on foot, but was taken into custody shortly afterwards. He was taken to the hospital and will be booked in the Mercer County Jail once he's discharged.
Anderson is facing several charges including fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property.
