HOWLAND State Route 46 northbound and southbound will soon close under State Route 82 in Howland Township as part of the diverging diamond interchange construction located there.

Beginning on September 26, 2025, both directions of State Route 46 will close under State Route 82. The closure will continue until mid-October.

Two detour routes are given in the update.

For drivers traveling along State Route 46 northbound, it is recommended that drivers take State Route 82 east to State Route 193, and then to State Route 82 west onto State Route 46 north.

For drivers traveling along State Route 46 southbound, it is recommended that drivers take State Route 82 west to Elm Road, and then to State Route 82 East to State Route 46 south.

Additionally, the community is invited to learn more about the diverging diamond interchange project at the Warren Library on September 24, beginning at 6 p.m.

The free program, featuring a presentation by Ohio Department of Transportation engineers, will take place at the Warren Library, located at 444 Mahoning Avenue in Warren, and aims to give area residents an opportunity to ask questions on the project.

Construction on the diverging diamond interchange project is estimated to be completed by mid-October.
