CANFIELD A Canfield Township man was arrested Monday on multiple felony charges, including pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, according to Mahoning County court records.

Robert M. Zimmerman, 42, of N. Palmyra Road, was taken into custody by the Youngstown U.S. Marshal Service.

Court records show a fugitive warrant was filed on Monday. He was booked into the Mahoning County jail, then released on a $50,000 bond.

The arrest follows a search warrant executed at Zimmerman’s home on July 30 by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, acting on a tip from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

At the time, authorities said the raid was connected to an investigation into alleged child sexual abuse material. Maj. Jeff Allen of the sheriff's office said agents found images and videos of child pornography on seized electronic devices.

Zimmerman faces one count of possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, and ten counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, which are fourth-degree felonies.

The Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force has been in operation since 2016 under the direction of Major Allen of the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office and includes representatives from the Austintown Police Department, Liberty Township Police Department, Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, and Mahoning County Children's Services.
