CLEVELAND, Ohio - Veterans in the Mahoning Valley and surrounding areas of Northeast Ohio may receive free seasonal flu shots at local VA community-based outpatient clinics, beginning this week.

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System has announced a schedule for the administration of influenza shots to help protect Veterans during the upcoming flu season.

According to a news release from the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, flu shots will be available at all northeast Ohio VA community-based outpatient clinics. This includes the following locations:

Warren VA Clinic
1460 Tod Avenue, Northwest

The initial schedule for the shots is as follows:

Saturday, September 27, 2025: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Weekdays starting Monday, September 29, 2025: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, October 4, 2025: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Veterans can also receive their flu shot during their regularly scheduled primary care VA appointments.

In addition to the clinics, the VA is offering eligible Veterans more options for getting their flu shot. No-cost flu shots are available at nearly 70,000 in-network retail pharmacies and urgent care locations nationwide throughout the 2024-2025 flu season.

To find a nearby VA medical facility, in-network urgent care, or retail pharmacy, Veterans can use the VA Locator tool at https://www.va.gov/find-locations/?facilityType=pharmacy. To use the tool, Veterans should enter their city, state, or postal ZIP code, then select a facility type from the drop-down menu (e.g., Urgent Care, Community Pharmacy, VA Health), and click "Search" to find a provider.

To be eligible for a flu shot at an in-network retail pharmacy or urgent care location, a Veteran must be enrolled in the VA health care system and have received care from a VA provider or an in-network community care provider within the last 24 months.

The VA encourages all eligible Veterans to take advantage of these free resources to protect their health during the flu season.
