YOUNGSTOWN An announcement is expected to be made on the "bright future" of the DeYor Performing Arts Center and Youngstown Symphony Orchestra next week.

The announcement is expected to be made Tuesday, September 30 by the DeYor Performing Arts Center, JAC Management Group, Stambaugh Auditorium and Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.

This announcement will take place about a month after reports of ongoing negotiations between the Youngstown Symphony Society and the Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Association regarding the continued operation of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.

At the time of those reports, Stambaugh CEO Matt Pagac declined to comment on what the two parties were negotiating, but posts from a social media account operated by the musicians of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra stated that the musicians' union contract expired Sunday, August 31.

The lack of a new contract could prevent the orchestra's 2025-26 season from happening.

At this time, it's unclear if an agreement was reached. JAC Management said they could not comment until Tuesday's announcement.

21 News will provide updates on the announcement once it is made. In the meantime, you can read more about the state of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra in our related coverage below.
