ASHTABULA, Ohio - Kent State University and the Youngstown Business Incubator (YBI) are hosting a multi-campus, live-streamed event on Wednesday, Oct. 15, to help local businesses navigate the basics of artificial intelligence.

The program, titled “AI 101: What Am I Getting Myself Into?” is designed to be a practical, non-intimidating session for small businesses and legacy companies exploring AI technology.

Neil Singh, a YBI EVOLVE Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR), will lead the discussion, which runs from 6-7 p.m. Participants will learn the fundamentals of what AI is, how to use it safely, and the definitions of OpenAI and ChatGPT. The presentation will also cover education, ethics, and foundational information around the new technology.

The event will be presented live from Kent State Ashtabula in Susan Stocker Hall, Room C132. It will be streamed in real time to three other Kent State campuses: Trumbull (Classroom Building, Room 150), East Liverpool (REM 108), and Salem (RSM 125).

The program is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Networking and light refreshments will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation and a 30-minute question-and-answer session until 7:30 p.m. Attendees must register and select their preferred campus viewing location, as the event will not be streamed to personal devices. Seating is limited at each site.
