NORTH JACKSON, Ohio - The Dairy Queen in North Jackson will soon move to a new location with more menu options for customers.

According to a filing with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SLW Development, who owns the Dairy Queen restaurant located at 11052 Mahoning Avenue in North Jackson has applied for a construction site stormwater general permit for North Bailey Road.

The filing lists the facility's name as Dairy Queen - Jackson,  and shows that it will share a parcel with the Dunkin Donuts at the intersection of North Bailey Road and Mahoning Avenue.

An employee at the current North Jackson Dairy Queen store confirmed with 21 News that the current store will move operations to this new location.

As it stands, Dairy Queen's North Jackson store is a "Treat Only" location, meaning it only offers ice cream items and a limited number of hot foods like hot dogs.

The employee tells us the new location will be a "Grill & Chill" location, which offers a dine-in option with more hot food items to choose from like cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches and chicken strips.

According to the EPA filing, the store's estimated completion date is May 15, 2026.
