Ohio early voting starts Tuesday: What you need to know

Voters in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties who plan to vote before Election Day have options for casting ballots in the Nov. 4 general election.
Early voting for all three counties begins Tuesday, Oct. 7, and concludes Sunday, Nov. 2. On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, polls in all three counties will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In-person voters are required to show photo identification. Acceptable photo IDs include an Ohio driver’s license or state ID card, U.S. passport or passport card, or a U.S. military or Veterans Affairs ID card. Voters without a photo ID may cast a provisional ballot or fill out an absentee ballot application to receive a ballot by mail.
Early In-Person Voting Schedule:
The in-person early voting schedule is uniform across Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, with one exception for Trumbull County.
The hours are:
Weekdays, Oct. 7–24
- Tuesdays through Fridays, Oct. 7–17: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Trumbull County is closed Monday, Oct. 13, for Columbus Day)
- Mondays through Fridays, Oct. 20–24: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Final Week, Oct. 27–Nov. 2
- Monday, Oct. 27: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Oct. 29, through Friday, Oct. 31: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 1: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 2: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Mahoning County
In-person early voting takes place at the Mahoning County Board of Elections, Entrance C, 345 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, OH. (330) 783-2474
Trumbull County
In-person early voting takes place at the Trumbull County Board of Elections, 2947 Youngstown Rd SE, Warren, OH. (330) 369-4050
Columbiana County
Columbiana County voters can cast their early in-person ballot at the Columbiana County Board of Elections, 7989 Dickey Drive, Suite #3, in Lisbon, OH. (330) 424-1448
The board of elections provides a 24-hour, monitored drop box at the front entrance for all election-related materials.
Voters can also vote early by mail.
To vote by mail, voters can obtain an absentee ballot application by calling their local Board of Elections (See phone numbers above) or printing one by following this link https://www.sos.state.oh.us/globalassets/elections/forms/11-a_english.pdf
. Completed applications must include one of the following:
- An Ohio driver’s license or state ID number.
- The last four digits of a Social Security number.
- A copy of a photo ID, including the front and back.
