Final phase of water main replacement to begin in Struthers, some roads to close

STRUTHERS Some roads in Stuthers will be closed temporarily as Aqua moves into the final phase of a water main replacement.
Beginning on October 13, 2025, contractors with Aqua will begin to replace the water main under the Bridge Street railroad crossing.
This means that between October 15 and October 23, the intersection of Bridge Street and State Street will be closed to allow for the replacement.
Detour signs will be posted to help direct motorists around the construction.
Although the intersection will be closed, traffic on State Street and Bridge Street south of the railroad crossing will be maintained, as well as access to Main Street, Liberty Street and Bob Cene Way.
Additionally, business access will be open and maintained, including:
- Donavito's Restaurant
- Selah Restaurant
- Astro Shapes
- ECMSI
- Sulmona Valley
- CASTLO Industrial Park
- Green Leaf Therapy
This construction is the final portion of a $1.6 million water main replacement project that began in the early months of 2025.
"The purpose of this project is to increase water flow and improve reliability of service through Struthers and in the City of Campbell and assure adequate water supply for periods of high demand," said Aqua Ohio's Area Manager Jennifer Johnson.
Johnson continued," We realize the inconvenience the construction process has had on downtown businesses and commuters and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation during this important upgrade to the water system."
This project is a part of the $12 million that Aqua will invest in the Mahoning Valley, according to Johnson.
