Westminster Presbyterian Church kicks off 69th annual book sale in Boardman

BOARDMAN The 69th annual used book sale at Westminster Presbyterian Church kicked off on Wednesday, offering deals on books and other items until Friday.
The sale is located at the church, found at 119 Stadium Drive in Boardman.
There are two remaining days to check out the selection being offered on Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.
The sale includes almost 40,000 books, available in paperback or hardback, of all categories, including:
- Childrens
- Nonfiction
- Fiction
- History
- Cooking
- Military
- Sports
- Hobby
- Religion
Puzzles, CDs, music albums and more are also available.
Andrea Armbrecht, the co-chair of the Westminster Presbyterian Church book sale, told 21 News that the church takes donations for the book sale for several months, and the community is very generous in continuing to donate their books.
Special deals are in place for both remaining days of the sale.
On Thursday, paperback books will be reduced to 25 cents. Then, on Friday, all books will be half off until 4 p.m., and then they will be $1 per bag after 4 p.m.
"There's still a population of people out there who like to hold a book, and prefer that to reading on Kindle or iPad," said Armbrecht.
The volunteer-led program uses all proceeds of the book sale to support the church's local, national and international outreach projects.
