UPDATE: Dog successfully undergoes surgery after shooting on Youngstown's Southside
YOUNGSTOWN - UPDATE: The dog, who has since been named Chappell, has completed surgery and, according to MacMurchy, is doing well. The bullet was fully removed from Chappell's spinal column.
Now, after several stitches, a cone and a prescription of pain medication, MacMurchy is hopeful that Chappell can begin on a long, but ultimately successful recovery.
The Animal Charity of Ohio is working with the Youngstown Police Department on the case.
Detectives are investigating the shooting of four people and a dog overnight on Youngstown’s South Side.
Officers were sent to West Willis Avenue late Thursday after three females and one male were wounded.

MacMurchy says the dog will be undergoing surgery soon to get a bullet removed from her spinal column.
