Four killed in fatal Mercer County car accident identified
LACKAWANNOCK TWP., Pa. - Three people killed in a car crash at the intersection of West Middlesex Road and Orchard Road in Mercer County have been identified.
The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to a Facebook post by the Shenango Township Fire Chief's office.
The same announcement confirmed that the West Middlesex Road was closed between the intersections of Bend Road and Flat Road.
According to a press release from PSP, a 2022 Corvette driven by 21-year-old Jacob Leathe was speeding down Mercer West Middlesex Road in Lackawannock Township when it struck 2025 Toyota Tacoma driven by 76-year-old Larry Miller.
From there, troopers say the Corvette went off the road and struck an embankment, followed by flipping in the air before landing back in the roadway.
According to the release, Leathe and his passenger, identified as 19-year-old Urie Byler were pronounced dead at the scene.
Miller and his passenger, identified as 76-year-old Cynthia Miller were both taken to the hospital where they later died of their injuries.
