Local demonstrations are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, as part of the “No Kings 2” day, an effort organized nationwide in opposition to what participants call “continued authoritarian power grabs” by President Trump.

The day of action, coordinated by a coalition of groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, MoveOn, and the Service Employees International Union, is a follow-up to a June 14 mobilization that organizers reported drew over 5 million people across the country. Organizers emphasize commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety at all events.

In northeast Ohio, events are planned at two county courthouses. A rally will take place in Warren at the Trumbull County Courthouse Square from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Later in the afternoon, a gathering is scheduled in Youngstown at the Mahoning County Courthouse from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Across the Pennsylvania border in Mercer County, three rallies are scheduled. Activities begin in Grove City at Memorial Park from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Participants will then move to the Mercer County Courthouse for an event from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The final scheduled gathering is in Hermitage at the corner of Route 18 and East State Street from noon to 2:30 p.m. Organizers noted that previous rallies in the county drew more than 1,000 participants.
