HERMITAGE A Hermitage man is facing 12 felony counts following an investigation into the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material, according to court documents filed in Mercer County.

Marc Edward Eugen Ganzy, 24, was charged with 10 counts of child pornography, one count of disseminating images or films of child sexual acts, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. All charges are felonies, with 10 counts being second-degree felonies.

The Pennsylvania State Police Computer Crime Unit, with assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, initiated the investigation in August 2024 after receiving several CyberTipline reports detailing the distribution of illegal content on the Kik Messenger platform. Activity was documented dating as early as May 2024.

An affidavit states that an IP address associated with the activity led investigators to Ganzy's home on Greenwood Drive. Further subpoenas of email providers corroborated the link to Ganzy, according to investigators.

Police searched Ganzy’s home in late August and took him into custody. Court records indicate Ganzy was interviewed when he was arrested and admitted the Kik accounts belonged to him and that he had traded child sexual abuse material on the application. A forensic review of his seized cell phone located 36 videos of the illegal material, the affidavit states.

Ganzy was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Daniel W. Davis. Bail was set at $25,000.

He was first jailed at the Mercer County Prison and is now held in Lawrence County Jail, unable to post bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 23
