YOUNGSTOWN A nursing home in Youngstown has been named as one of the best small nursing homes in the United States, according to a news release from the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.

According to the release, the designation comes from Newsweek, a weekly news magazine.

Nursing home facilities being evaluated were categorized by size:

  • Small (50-99 certified beds)
  • Medium (100-149 certified beds)
  • Large (More than 150 certified beds)

Heritage Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation is being recognized as one of the best nursing homes in the United States, and as one of the top five small nursing homes in Ohio in the "small" category.

The evaluation was done based on four data sources, including:

  • Quality metrics data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
  • A national online survey of thousands of medical professionals
  • Accreditation data on nursing homes, provided by the Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities
  • Google reviews

The facility contains 72 beds, and offers short-term and long-term care for residents.
