'A Day in the LOOP' aims to showcase creativity in Mahoning, Shenango Valleys

YOUNGSTOWN LOOP Youngstown Arts + Culture Center is inviting communities in the Mahoning Valley and Shenango Valley to submit a "slice of life" art piece that showcases a typical day in their community.
The "A Day in the LOOP" project aims to capture the spirit of the region with photos, videos, writing or other art media.
One main question that is being asked of participants is: "What story do you want to tell about this moment in time and place?"
Residents of Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Mercer and Lawrence Counties are being invited to participate.
Several media types are being accepted as part of the submission, including:
- Photography
- Video
- Writing
- Other art media
Submissions can be done individually or by a group. However, the item being submitted must be taken, written or created between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 17.
The deadline to submit art pieces is Sunday, October 19, by 11:59 p.m.
Selected works will be chosen by curators Autumn Joi Ellis, Tony Nicholas, Thomas Welsh and Stephen Poullas.
Those pieces that are selected would be published and archived on the LOOP Youngstown website.
A full list of rules for specific art piece types can be found on the "A Day in the LOOP" project page.
