Campbell Police investigate attempted ATM theft
CAMPBELL Police were on the scene of an incident along Moore Avenue in Campbell around 3:15 a.m. on Friday, where police say someone was attempting to steal an ATM.
Campbell Police Chief Kevin Sferra told 21 News that a suspect was attempting to steal an ATM from Huntington Bank, located at 809 McCartney Road.
The suspect fled from the scene in their vehicle, where police were able to chase them to Moore Avenue, a little under one mile away from the bank.
The suspect later drove into a yard, bailed out of the vehicle and fled. The suspect has not been located at this time.
21 News crews on the scene of this incident found a vehicle with damage to its driver's side.
Sferra confirmed that this incident is connected to an officer-involved crash, but it is unclear the level of involvement the officer had in the crash.
The incident is still under investigation.
