When 33 year old Kamille Hibbitt brought her 7 year old son into Akron Children's hospital in Boardman he was clinging to life.

According to a complaint, staff called it the most critical case they'd ever seen.

His core temperature was measured at just 85 degrees, even while being warmed with blankets, heated IV fluids and a Bair Hugger device.

His sodium level was significantly lower than normal and "no pulse was detected in his legs."

Reports indicated that the child had weighed 44 pounds last year, but now was down to 29.

The complaint says Hibbitt told hospital staff she delayed seeking care due to visible bruises and fear of being accused of abuse.

Hibbitt allegedly claimed the child had been "throwing himself to the floor," in recent months.

A second endangering charge against Hibbitt stems from last March, when the same child was allegedly outside with no shoes in 30 degree weather, begging neighbors for food.

The complaint states, "Hibbitt acknowledged swelling around the child's eyes for days but treated him only with ice. She admitted placing the child in a cold shower after his seizure, stating she was afraid the doctors would think she caused his injuries. Kamille Hibbitt further admitted she believed the child may have suffered a brain bleed or concussion from repeatedly hitting his head amd that she thought the child was swallowing vomit and had internal injuries but still chose not to seek medical attention."

The child was last reported in critical but stable condition.

Hibbitt and a woman who lives with her, Essence Revely, 30, are facing multiple charges including felonious assault, endangering children, and Revely was booked on an allegation of tampering with evidence.
