Area restaurants hosting Friday fundraisers for Trooper Cayton family

CANFIELD Several local businesses are hosting benefit events on Friday, Oct. 24, to support the family of Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton, who was fatally struck on Oct. 16 while assisting a disabled vehicle on state Route 11 in Canfield.
Trooper Cayton, 40, a veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard with two overseas deployments, served on the patrol since 2012. He is survived by his wife, Lynsey, and two children, Turner and Romy.
AREA FUNDRAISERS:
McDonald's Restaurants
Three locally owned McDonald's locations in Austintown and Canfield are participating in a fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24. The fundraiser will dedicate 15% of all sales during that time to benefit Trooper Cayton's family for any expenses they may encounter.
Participating locations include:
- Canfield McDonald's: 586 E. Main St.
- Austintown McDonald's: 5526 Mahoning Ave.
- Raccoon Rd McDonald's: 1709 S Raccoon Rd.
El Cowboy Restaurant
Austintown's El Cowboy restaurant, at 1739 South Raccoon Road, is also hosting a benefit event that evening. The restaurant's "Disco Inferno" event opens its doors at 7 p.m.
The owners are requesting a donation for entry, with all proceeds from the entry going to the Cayton family. El Cowboy will also donate 10% of the evening's business to the family.
The family has requested that donations be made to the Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton Memory Fund at www.ohiotroopers.org.
