BOARDMAN A Boardman resident discovered that her own personal "Nightmare Before Christmas" became a reality after two inflatable decorations, featuring characters from the classic film, were stolen from her front yard.

The incident was reported to the Boardman Police Department on Thursday morning, after the decorations disappeared overnight.

The theft occurred on Tudor Lane. The missing items were a five-foot tall, light-up, inflatable "Oogie Boogie"—described as a "smiling ghoul looking character with a purple spider across his chest" —and a five-foot tall, light-up, inflatable "Zero," which was a "smiling white dog with an orange pumpkin on its nose, laying atop of a blue tombstone that reads 'Zero'".

The resident last saw her spooky yet charming duo intact in her yard around 9 p.m. When she checked at approximately 5 a.m., she found only the remnants: a green extension cord and three metal stakes, the only clues to where her festive fiends had gone.

While the resident told the officer that she had "no suspects in mind," she did mention seeing a group of teenagers riding bicycles down Tudor Lane a few days prior, though she has nothing to connect them to the crime.

The police attempted to check Ring cameras across the street, but a neighbor reported that their camera wasn’t working.

Photos of the empty boxes for the inflatable characters were uploaded to the police system.
