Power restored to Hubbard residents after tree fall damages poles, power lines
A tree on Hubbard's North Main Street fell Friday afternoon, damaging power lines and at least four telephone poles with transformers.
As of Saturday morning, power has been restored to Hubbard neighborhoods affected by the damage. Power was previously turned off as crews cleaned up fallen wires and set new telephone poles. A 21 News crew on the scene has also reported that lanes on North Main Street that were previously closed to traffic, during repairs, have reopened.
Residents were without power much of Friday evening and into the night. Crews worked throughout the night to restore power and repair the damage caused by the tree fall according to a late-night Facebook post from Hubbard Mayor Benjamin Kyle.
Kyle told 21 News he was hopeful that power would be restored by Friday evening but an update from the City of Hubbard just after 9 p.m. stated that "crews will be working throughout the night to restore power after the tree fall."
