Man convicted of murder outside Warren store due for sentencing

WARREN A Warren man scheduled for sentencing this afternoon following his conviction last week on multiple felony charges, including the murder of Choice Washington in August 2025.
David Hollie, 46, was found guilty by a jury last week in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 3, 2025, outside a Warren convenience store on the 300 block of Scott Street NE, where Washington was shot. Washington, 34, died days later.
Hollie faces a first-degree felony murder charge along with firearm specifications. The jury also convicted him of felony counts of having weapons while under disability, tampering with evidence, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and receiving stolen property.
The court's docket indicates the judge will also hold a Repeat Violent Offender hearing before the sentencing. Hollie has been in custody of the Trumbull County Jail since the case was filed in mid-August.
