Reynolds Drive-in owners seek buyer as the family eyes retirement

TRANSFER, Pa. - After successfully reviving a Mercer County community gathering spot, the owners of the Reynolds Drive-In have announced they are ready to retire and pass the business into new hands.
A message displayed on the marquee of the Transfer theater reads: “Wife said to retire. Business for sale. Closed for the season. Thank you.” The sentiment was echoed on the theater’s Facebook page, where the Feidler and Davis families publicly announced their decision.
“We have accomplished our goal of reviving the Reynolds Drive-In property and showing movies again,” the owners posted on Facebook. “However, now is the time for someone else to take the Drive-In to the next level of entertainment.”
The venue was purchased and reopened by Stephanie Davis and her father, Jeff Fielder, after a seven-year closure. The partners purchased the venue, which has been an area staple since the 1940s, to renovate and operate it for their community.
In 2020, a storm destroyed the theater’s screen. Davis and her mom, Peggy Fielder, who successfully reopened the classic drive-in the following year, emphasized that the sale is neither a “fire sale” nor a “closing sale.”
The revival followed a $318,000 investment to install a new screen and renovate the cafe.
In addition to showing movies, the recently concluded “pet-friendly” theater’s 2025 season included live entertainment, mini and pop-up festivals, food fairs, a flea market, cruise-in car shows, "Free Family Movie Nights" and "Beep, Beep Bingo" events.
If a new owner is not found, the families warned, “Peg and Steph will have to put their Big Girl pants on and make more popcorn.”
The owners are encouraging serious inquiries. For information about the purchase, potential buyers are asked to leave a message at 724-815-1305.
