YOUNGSTOWN A new business will be occupying the former Rite Aid building in the Cornserburg neighborhood in Youngstown. 

In October 2025, Youngstown Code Enforcement Superintendent Mike Durkin told 21 News that Sheetz will open its doors in the former Rite Aid building on Canfield Road in Youngstown.

On Wednesday, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially approved a notice of intent application filed by Steetz Inc. to build on the property.

Sheetz is a gas station and convenience store chain that also specializes in fresh, made-to-order food. Sheetz has several locations throughout the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys.

There is currently no time frame for when the new location is expected to open.
