Families gather for 'candy drop' in Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. - Families gathered at Big Rail Brewing in Grove City for a "candy drop" experience on Wednesday.
Several businesses in the area donated candy to prepare for the event hosted by the brewery on Wednesday.
The candy donated was placed inside the bucket of an excavator, with children dressed in Halloween costumes waiting patiently off to the side for the candy to drop.
"It's nice that we have a place like this for people to go. It's a free event, you know, there's no admission," said Bill Smith, Co-Owner of Big Rail Brewing.
Additionally, a bounce house, dessert truck and sandbox were all featured at the event.
According to Smith, this year marks the second time they have done the "candy dump."
"It looks like it's going to keep on going," said Smith.
Smith continued, "We're seeing faces that we've never seen before, so hopefully we're bringing some customers to our business."
On the Big Rail Brewing Facebook page, several businesses are credited with donating candy, including:
- Howe Company - Candy Coffee Nuts
- Hazy Construction
- Realty One Group
- Wilson A Lindy Company
- Rendos Beer Distribution
- Strachan Cline & Bombatch
- Thomas Construction, Inc.
- Erme's Distributing Company
