BOARDMAN Two brothers were in the Mahoning County Jail early Thursday, awaiting afternoon court appearances after an alleged fight at a Boardman home.

Kenneth Robert Perkins, 33, and Michael J. Perkins, 35, were both arrested by the U.S. Marshals Office this week on warrants issued by the Boardman Police Department.

Officers who were sent to a home on Clifton Drive late Friday to investigate the report of a fight found injured people on the front porch. The officers also saw that the front door glass was broken.

The bleeding victims told police that Michael Perkins had been at the house earlier, but witnesses said he had been asked to go. He allegedly came back about 10 minutes later with his brother, Kenneth Perkins.

One person said that after the door was closed, the glass was broken, and someone reached in to open the lock. The person also said they were hit in the back of the head and thought Michael Perkins used brass knuckles during the fight.

One victim was taken to Akron Children's Hospital for a cut under his left eye. Another was later taken to Mercy Health Boardman to be treated for head injuries.

A police officer wrote that the second victim had at least three deep cuts on the side of his head and scalp. The suspects drove away from the house toward Southern Boulevard.

Kenneth Perkins, of Austintown, faces a charge of aggravated burglary. Michael Perkins, of Youngstown, is charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault.

Both men are being held with no bond set. An initial court hearing was scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday.
