Youngstown Diocese announces emergency food drive

YOUNGSTOWN In light of ongoing concerns regarding the potential loss of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in November due to the ongoing government shutdown, the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown has announced an emergency food drive.
The emergency food drive kicks off Friday, October 31, and runs through the end of 2025. Youngstown Bishop David Bonnar is calling on parishioners and the public to support those struggling with food insecurity.
"Let us come together as one diocesan family to live out the Gospel. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, let us do everything we can to bring hope to the hopeless," Bishop Bonnar said.
Anyone interested in donating to their local parish's food pantry is encouraged to contact the parish directly for further guidance.
If your parish does not have a food pantry, you can also drop donations off at Catholic Charities and St. Vincent de Paul Society locations across the Mahoning Valley.
You can find a complete list of dropoff locations in the PDF below.
