YOUNGSTOWN  The jury trial for a 64-year-old Campbell man facing felony charges, including rape, was postponed for a fourth time in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Terrance Jefferies' trial, which had been scheduled to begin today before Judge Anthony M. D’Apolito, was marked as “continued” in court records. A new trial date has not yet been set in the court's online docket, which lists the case as still open.

Jefferies, one of two defendants in the case, has been in the Mahoning County Jail since August 2024, when he was indicted on charges of first-degree felony rape and third-degree felony compelling prostitution. The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred in Mahoning County between April 1 and June 13, 2024, involving a minor.

The most recent prior trial date was set for July 28, 2025, but was also continued by the court. Records show that Mr. Jefferies waived his right to a speedy trial in October 2024, and again just last week, on Oct. 31.

The case has been active since the August 2024 indictment, with a series of court events, mostly pre-trial hearings.

Since April, court motions filed by the defense include a motion to revoke the speedy trial waiver, a motion to establish or modify bail, a motion to dismiss charges, and multiple requests for supplemental evidence and records from the prosecution.

The court did address bail in June, setting Mr. Jefferies’ bond at $300,000.

Jefferies is a co-defendant with Mildred Woods, 48, whose separate case, involving similar charges, is also being heard by Judge D'Apolito. Woods’ next scheduled event is a status hearing on Nov. 5, 2025.
