WARREN  The Warren Family Mission is holding an emergency drive-thru food giveaway today, Friday, Nov. 7, starting at noon at its food pantry located at 1312 W. Market St. The event will continue only while supplies last.

The mission announced the giveaway is in response to the recent government shutdown and the delay in issuing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this month.

The mission plans to distribute grocery essentials, including milk, cereal, meat, bread, fresh produce, canned goods, and pasta.

Traffic and Line-Up Information

To ensure traffic moves smoothly and safely, the Warren Family Mission has set up a specific route for the drive-thru line. Attendees must follow these directions:

Line Up: Drivers must line up on Penn Avenue NW, proceed along Ward Street NW, and then turn onto Austin Avenue NW. The final stop will be at the mission on West Market Street.

Do Not Block: Drivers are instructed not to block intersections, driveways or West Market Street.

Entry and Exit: Vehicles will not be able to enter the line from any other street. There will be no parking on West Market Street.

Congestion: If the back streets become too congested, drivers will be asked to leave and return later when traffic allows.

What to Bring

To receive food, families must present an ID for their household.

Up to two families are permitted per car, but each family must have a photo ID showing a separate household address.

The Warren Family Mission is partnering with New Day, On-Demand Counseling, and Second Harvest Food Bank to provide the resources for today's event.
