YOUNGSTOWN  The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic accident that seriously injured a motorcyclist on Youngstown's Southside.

It happened after 8 a.m. Friday along Market Street, just south of Midlothian Boulevard.

21 News is still working to get details, but a damaged Honda motorcycle could be seen in a grassy area near Overhill Road. The bike was covered in grass and turf.

The patrol tells 21 News that the motorcyclist was taken to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries.

The curb lane of southbound Market Street was blocked in the area while the crash was being investigated.
