BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Walmart Inc. has introduced its 2025 promotional Thanksgiving meal basket at a lower total price than last year, partly achieved by reducing the number of menu items.

The 2025 “one-click” meal is priced at under $40 and is packaged to serve 10 people, costing less than $4 per person. The company stated this year's basket contains over 20 national and private brand items.

In comparison, the 2024 promotional meal was designed to serve eight people for less than $7 per person, resulting in a higher overall price for the bundle. That 2024 package contained 29 food items.

The price drop for 2025 is paired with a higher per-pound cost for the turkey. This year’s 13.5-pound Butterball Turkey is priced at $.97 per pound, while the 2024 offer featured a 10-to-16-pound Whole Frozen Turkey at $.88 per pound.

While both meal packages aim to provide a traditional holiday spread, the difference in the number of items reflects several changes in the ingredients offered to customers.

The 2024 basket included several prepared or specialized items that are not listed in the 2025 contents:

Pies and Desserts: The 2024 basket included a Marie Callender’s Southern Pecan Pie and Great Value Frozen Whipped Topping. The 2025 basket does not include these, instead featuring ingredients to make a pumpkin pie (Great Value Pie Crusts, Evaporated Milk, 100% Pure Pumpkin).

Stuffing and Muffin Mixes: The 2024 package included Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix (two units) and Swanson Chicken Broth. The 2025 basket lists Stove Top Turkey Stuffing (twin pack) but does not list the corn muffin mix or the broth.

Vegetables and Sides: The 2024 meal listed Fresh Whole Sweet Potatoes (three units), Fresh Yellow Onions (3 pounds), Fresh Celery Stalks, Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce, Jet-Puffed Mini Marshmallows, and French’s Crispy Fried Onions. The 2025 package omits these specific items. Instead, the 2025 basket includes Kinder's Fried Onions, Fresh Cranberries (12 ounces), Great Value Baby Carrots (2 pounds), and three boxes of Great Value Artisan Macaroni & Cheese.

John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart U.S., stated that the company is offering a low-priced meal featuring "iconic brands like Butterball and Stove Top alongside trusted Walmart private brand items" so families can celebrate "without compromising on quality, quantity or tradition."

The Thanksgiving meal basket can be purchased in stores or online with a single click through Dec. 25.
