Hot diggity dog: Suzie's sets Penguin City revival

A Youngstown bar and restaurant known for its gourmet hot dogs and unconventional toppings is returning to the area in a new form this fall.
Bradley Miller helped open the original Youngstown Suzie's in 2014, working to craft their style and menu along with Ashlea Duck, who managed the bar for four years during their time on North Phelps Street.
Starting Nov. 26, Suzie's returns in the form of a food truck at their new home inside of Penguin City Brewing Company.
"We've been rotating food trucks for a while," said Aspasia Lyras-Bernacki, co-founder of Penguin City Brewing. "But we've been looking for something more permanent that fits our energy and community vibe. Suzie's is the perfect match."
The partnership between Duck and Penguin City began in 2024 with BYOB (Build Your Own Breakfast LLC) Brunch and the Brunch Bus, a weekend series formerly hosted in the old Rhine Haus building. When that venue closed, Penguin City was confirmed as the new home for both BYOB Brunch and the upcoming Suzie's revival.
The Brunch Bus will now transform between concepts — operating as BYOB by day and Suzie's by night, operating alongside Penguin City's taproom hours.
The grand opening for Suzie's new chapter will be on Nov. 26th at Penguin City Brewing with live performances from The Vindys and DJ Puff. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the event will be free to the public before the $10 cover charge begins at 10 p.m.
Penguin City Brewing Company is located at 460 E Federal Street in Youngstown.
