Mahoning County Clerk of Courts delinquent in over $3,000 in property tax

YOUNGSTOWN - Mahoning County Clerk of Courts Michael Ciccone owes more than $3,000 in property taxes to the county, according to the Mahoning County Auditor's Office.
According to the Mahoning County Auditor's website, Ciccone is delinquent in taxes on three separate properties.
Records show Ciccone owes $1,983.92 on a property on Edgehill Drive, $188.01 on a property on Turner Road and $1,058.64 for a property on East Garfield Road, for a total of $3,230.57 in unpaid property taxes.
21 News reached out to Ciccone for comment on this matter on Monday, but never heard back.
This news comes as both local Democrats and Republicans are calling on Ciccone to resign from his position of Clerk of Courts following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an employee.
Last month, Republican Austintown Township Trustee Robert Santos told 21 News that these allegations are "not what we want representing our community, especially our county."
The Mahoning County Democratic Party also weighed in, releasing a statement saying if he does not resign, they will start a "citizens-led initiative" to remove him from office.
Ciccone has denied these allegations, calling them "categorically false" and refused to resign.
