Former Cleveland Browns Quarterback and Boardman graduate and native Bernie Kosar is in the hospital and said he could really use "love, support and prayers today."

The 61-year-old former football star posted on the social media platform X, stating that he is in the hospital and going to undergo a third procedure since Sunday to stop internal bleeding. Kosar also noted that the surgery was necessary due to an infection.

Kosar has been on a waiting list to receive a new liver since 2024 and was diagnosed with Parkington's Disease earlier that year.

In the video, Kosar said he thought he was going to receive a new liver over the weekend, but that it didn't happen.

He called the two procedures on Sunday "aggressive."

"I wanted to start everyone's day positively and spiritually in a right frame of mind," he added.

Kosar retired in 1996 from the NFL.
