WARREN One of two suspects accused of murdering a Warren father of five faces new, separate criminal charges in Trumbull County.

John Armstrong, 50, who is being held on $1 million bond in the Cuyahoga County Jail awaiting trial for the shooting death of 46-year-old Juvar King, has now been indicted by the Trumbull County Grand Jury.

According to court records, Armstrong was indicted Thursday on felony charges of burglary and gross sexual imposition in connection with a July 2 incident in Trumbull County.

Armstrong's indictment in Trumbull County was filed through a process known as "direct presentment," meaning the charges went straight to the grand jury without first being filed in a lower court. 21 News is working to find out more about the alleged crimes.

The case connecting the two counties began on February 4, when King was reported missing after failing to pick up his daughters.

On the same day, King's vehicle was found burned in Cleveland on the 9300 block of Sherwood Road. King's body was discovered more than a month later, on March 17, in East Cleveland. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner later ruled his death a homicide caused by a single gunshot wound to the head.

In the Cuyahoga County case, a grand jury indicted Armstrong on a total of ten counts, including aggravated murder, two counts of murder, and kidnapping. Another man, Nathaniel Crockett, is a co-defendant in the Cuyahoga County murder case.

Armstrong was arrested in Dayton on August 25 following a standoff with law enforcement. In addition to being wanted by the East Cleveland Police Department for King’s murder, Armstrong was also wanted by the Summit County Sheriff's Office for an unrelated rape charge.

He is scheduled for an arraignment on Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Armstrong is scheduled to appear before a judge in Cuyahoga County on December 1 in connection with the King murder case.
