The Mahoning County Career & Technical Center (MCCTC) and Valley STEM will host an open house on Tuesday, Nov. 18, inviting students and families to learn more about what they have to offer.

The open house will include touring labs, meeting instructors and learning more about the programs available for the 2026-2027 school year.

"Our business and industry partners are asking for more skilled workers, and we are responding," Superintendent John Zehentbauer said. "We're preparing students not only for today's workforce, but for future jobs that don't even exist year."

Visitors will be able to walk through all programs available as well as ask questions and learn more about how hands-on learning prepares students for college, careers and helps earn industry credentials.

"This Open House is the best way for families to see how we're growing to meet those needs," Zehentbauer said.

The Valley STEM + ME2 Academy accepts enrollment from incoming ninth and tenth graders, while MCCTC can place incoming juniors into two-year career programs.

MCCTC plans for new programs in the 2026-2027 school year, including:

  • HVAC Technology
  • Media Arts & Design
  • An updated A.I. & Software Development program
  • Expanded Welding programs
  • Enhanced Pre-Nursing pathways with MCCTC's Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing
  • Two senior-only programs: Nail Tech and HVAC

MCCTC is located on 7300 North Palmyra Rd. in Canfield.
